Florida has some fantastic spots to see deer, especially white-tailed deer, which are the most
common. Here are 7 great places where you're likely to spot them:
1. Ocala National Forest (Central Florida)
A massive forest with miles of trails and open areas where deer are
frequently seen, especially in the early morning or evening.
2. Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park (near Gainesville)
A massive forest with miles of trails and open areas where deer

3. Big Cypress National Preserve (near the Everglades)
Vast wetland areas where deer roam freely.
Early mornings are best for sightings.
4. Apalachicola National Forest (Panhandle)

5. Myakka River State Park (near Sarasota)
One of Florida’s oldest and largest parks. Lots of open prairie areas
make it easy to spot deer.
6. Highlands Hammock State Park (near Sebring)
Dense hammock and marshland with scenic drives and boardwalks.
Deer are often spotted in the mornings.
7. St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge (Panhandle, near
Tallahassee)
A great birding and wildlife area, with plenty of deer, especially near
the edges of forest and marshland.
