Sky-High Spots of Central Florida
Flying a kite in Central Florida is pure joy thanks to its wide‑open parks, steady breezes, and scenic
lakesides. One of the most popular spots is Cocoa Beach, known for its consistent winds and spacious
shoreline, making it ideal for both casual kite flyers and those who enjoy more advanced wind play. The
nearby Banana River area also offers calmer conditions and plenty of room to spread out, giving families
and beginners a relaxed place to enjoy the sky
Farther inland, Kelly Park in Merritt Island
provides a mix of open grassy areas and
waterfront views, creating a peaceful
environment for kite flying. Its coastal breezes
tend to stay steady throughout much of the year,
making it a reliable choice.
If you prefer a more natural, untouched setting,
Playalinda Beach near Titusville offers long
stretches of open sand and strong ocean winds.
It’s a great place for larger kites or for anyone
who enjoys pairing their kite flying with wildlife
viewing and quiet coastal scenery.
