IF YOU OWN A BOAT, JETSKI, DOCK, BOATHOUSE OR BOATLIFT
THIS ARTICLE AND CHECKLIST WAS MADE JUST FOR YOU.
Warm weather is finally upon us and so is
boating season, yes!
BY GARY BINIAK
This past winter in Florida was long and cold, so for most of
us it’s been several months since we last used our boats,
jetskis, walked out on our dock or used our boatlifts, but now
as the weather warms we are ready to go hit the water once
again, but before we do, make sure to take a read of this
article for important information that will help to ensure you
have a great first day out.
The cold weather can wreak havoc on your boat/jetski
batteries, moisture typically builds-up in your gas and older
gas can cause issues with your boat or jetski’s normal
operation, sometimes, even critters find there way into
electrical and you just might be surprised when you go out to
enjoy a day on the water with what you might discover,
especially if they are still living in your boat!
I had my boat motor quit on me last month just after
launching, it turned out the gas line was clogged, I had no
paddles, and the wind blew me clear across the lake. Luckily it
wasn’t a large lake and my friend met me on the other side
with the paddle that I had forgotten in the back of my truck.
I’d like for you to minimize those types of experiences by
using this checklist which was inspired by my experience.
